Honda HSV 010 GT New Photos and Video
New video of the Honda HSV-010 GT, Honda Racing's replacement to the Honda/Acura NSX, has surfaced online. The nearly 11-minute long video shows two mean, all-black racecars running test laps on the Suzuka Circuit in Japan.
The car is slated for the GT500 class of the Japan Super GT Race Series. This series typically requires manufacturers to provide production cars, but production-ready vehicles are also allowed. Class rules mandate the car use a 3.4-liter V8 engine.
South-central Japan's Suzuka Circuit will play host to the race debut of the Honda HSV-010 GT. The race season kicks off on March 20th.

Honda HSV-010 GT Replaced NSX in 2010 Japan GT
Honda Racing has announced that the Honda HSV-010 GT will serve as a replacement to the NSX in the Japan Super GT Race Series. Running in the GT500 class, the new model uses a 3.4-liter V8 engine, as required by the racing series rules.
Although the Super GT normally requires racing vehicles to be based on production cars, there are exceptions to the rule. As previously reported, one such exception is the use of a production-ready car, even if the car is not in production.
With the economy's particularly harsh effect on the automotive industry, it is doubtful Honda would release a new high-end sports car this year. This is especially true with Honda's corporate push to focus on more mass-marketable vehicles, and less on niche-market vehicles that are purchased in small numbers.
Honda's new racer is based on a recent NSX prototype. The Honda HSV-010 GT will debut during the March 20-21 season opening race weekend at Suzuka Circuit in south-central Japan.

MUGEN Honda CR-Z Also Revealed
In addition to yesterday's leaked brochure shots containing official photos and details of the production version of the 2011 Honda CR-Z, a new scan featuring the JDM MUGEN variant escaped today onto Japanese automotive forums.
The new photo shows Honda's hybrid-coupe in full MUGEN body ware with a new grille treatment, chunkier side skirts, front apron, large rear wing, a new rear bumper incorporating a diffuser and newly designed alloy wheels.
We assume that, like most MUGEN proposals, the complete package for the 2011 CR-Z will also include numerous other upgrades such as suspension and brake kits, a sport exhaust system and interior options. The new Honda CR-Z will be launched in its home market in February 2010.

Honda V10 NSX-Replacement Model At 2010 Super GT
When news broke out that Honda was pulling the NSX out of all Super GT competition a number of questions arose among the fans. One of the most nagging ones was what will replace the current NSX GT racer for the 2010 season considering Honda had already confirmed it’s participation in the 2010 Super GT series where new regulations require all race cars to be of Front-Rear layout.
Earlier this month, fans of the NSX GT saw the last race at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit in Japan. In its 13 years of racing since it’s debut back in 1997, the NSX has claimed 49 poles with 36 race wins from 105 starts. With such an illustrious race career, it is unsurprising then that Honda will continue racing in the series, but not with the NSX, not even the FR S2000 but Honda will race none other than it’s shelved FR Super Sports V10 – the original NSX replacement model.
According to reports, the shelved project, which had to be put on permanent hold along with Honda’s F1 involvement due to the economic crisis, will find new life as the base for the GT car in the 2010 season.
As to the ability of the car to handle race conditions, the FR V10 was apparently under going development on a Super GT variant before it was given the axe, so the car is pretty much ready for race use.
The GT racer’s original release was to coincide with the release of the road going version into the market but not anymore. It seems sure that the race version of the car will be released next year but not for the road going version. We don’t know if it ever will but with the changing of times and economic conditions plus a few race wins, we’re sure that the FR V10 Super Sport will make it to the road.
The FR V10 Super Sport is obviously not a production model so Honda will have to obtain special permission from the organisers of the Super GT to allow the car to compete in the GT500. If that happens, Honda will also be off the homologation hook as there will be no need for the production of a limited run of V10s to allow the car to compete, something that has happened before in the past with the NSX-R GT.

New Honda NSX Racer to Debut at Final Round of Britcar Championship
John Danby Racing team's newly developed (and oh-so sizzling hot) Honda NSX racer. The matte black Japanese sportscar was built to comply with the Britcar Production regulations and has already completed a successful shakedown test at Snetterton in Norfolk last Friday ahead of its debut at the season's final round at Brands Hatch on November 7.
The UK-based racing team said that their newly built NSX is equipped with all the latest technology gizmos such as engine control and data-logging capabilities with GPS, Fly by Wire and live feed video while custom solutions have been adopted for for dampers and brakes.
The NSX racer will be driven by motoring journalist and TV persona Vicki Butler-Henderson alongside John Danby Racing regular James Barclay in the daytime Production race while the car's owner and Britcar regular David Fenn will drive the NSX in the evening GT race alongside Barclay.

Honda NSX Retires From Super GT Racing
Time has officially run out for the much loved Honda NSX. After 13 years of top class racing in the Japanese Super GT, Honda has confirmed that the NSX will be retired.
The Honda NSX was only produced from 1990-2005, but Honda continued to race it in the Super GT series because of its popularity among the Japanese race fans.
The race car sports a number of important race upgrades to the road going version; the chassis has been tuned by the renowned Dome race team, and the engine particularly has been tuned by Mugen and is now a longitudinally mounted 3.5-liter V6 unit that produces around 500bhp. For comparison, the road-going version is powered by a 3.0-liter transversely mounted powerplant that produces a puny by comparison, 270bhp.
In its 13 years, the NSX-GT has won the river and team championship in 2000 and again in 2007. The car has also sat on pole position 49 times and won 36 races.
As to the reason behind it’s retirement, the NSX-GT has effectively been forced out of the championship as 2010 regulations state that all GT500 cars must be front-engined and rear-wheel drive.
Honda says it will announce a replacement car for the series in due course, but has not confirmed what this will be. Reports suggest a reworked front-engined version of the NSX or a modified Super 2000 car could be used, although neither would have any direct marketing value.

Honda New Sportier Si Trim for Civic 5-Door
Honda will release the all new 5 doors Honda Civic due to British buyers interested in the 5-door version Available across the entire 5-door Civic range, in all engine variants and transmissions, the Si grade package includes colour-coded bumpers, front fog lights, a Type R-style mesh front grille and dark chrome door handles and fuel cap.

Low Rider Honda Insight Hybrid by Exclusive Zeus
The new Honda Insight hybrid may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when we think of tuning, but still that hasn't deterred Japanese tuners from presenting all sorts of sport packages for the compact hatch. This particular proposal is the work of Japan's 'Exclusive Zeus' and aside from the lowered suspension, the package includes a front apron, beefy side skirts, a blacked out grille and a rear apron and diffuser plus a set of new alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tyres.

Honda CR-Z, Fit Hybrid production in 2010
A good news for the automotive industry, Honda has confirmed what's been suspected for some time: the Honda CR-Z is coming next year and the Fit Hybrid will be released in late 2010.
The CR-Z, a sporty hybrid inspired by the CRX and unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007, will go on sale in Japan this February, with the Fit Hybrid hitting shores across the Pacific later next year. Honda hasn't explicitly announced whether the two models will be available in the States, but we'd expect a formal announcement when the production CR-Z and Fit Hybrid debut at the Tokyo Motor Show this October.
