Recently, Porsche has released the details and images of the all-wheel-drive versions Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S.
Depending on the model, the all-wheel-drive Carrera offers up to 8.5 % more power, up to 12.9 % more fuel economy and 15.4 % lower CO2 emissions. A 3.6 liter engine which capable to produces 345bhp (254kW) powered the Porsche Carrera and the version with PDK consumes a mere 10.1 liter/100 km (28 mpg) of fuel. The 3.8-liter engine of the Porsche Carrera 4S cabriolet meanwhile produces 385 bhp (283 kW) and the version with PDK consume 10.7 liter/100 km (26.4 mpg).
The electronically controlled PTM Porsche Traction Management replaces the former all-wheel-drive with its viscous multiple-plate clutch. The system was developed for the 911 Turbo and modified for the Carrera models.
The all-new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S feature 6-gear manual transmission while the version with Porsche’s new Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (double-clutch gearbox comes with seven gears shifting electrohydraulically) replacing the former Tiptronic S automatic converter transmission and offering an even faster gearshift on less fuel.
For the exterior, a set of new front end and bi-xenon headlights and new LED daytime driving lights, newly designed rear light clusters with LED technology and optional Dynamic Bending Lights.
At the interior, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S are equipped with the new PCM Porsche Communication Management with its touch-sensitive screen compatible with Bluetooth, USB and iPod.
